First Flush Monitoring
The Russian River First Flush study is a volunteer water monitoring effort supported by Federal, State and Local government agency resources and expertise. Like a doctor who takes patients vital signs before diagnosing a health problem, this study gathers important data during the first major storm event in the Fall to assess the health of the Russian River and helps cities, water quality regulators and community groups identify problems and propose solutions to combat stormwater pollution.
